What law would you abolish?

Yes the Brits have asked that question here. Nick Clegg of the coalition government is reported as stating that "the government has crept too far into our lives in recent years, and the intrusion needs to change."

Therein lies the problem, he has qualified his opinion by "in recent years!" For myself I think the excessive intrusion predates the Tudor line.

The fact that the government seek the opinion of the population suggests their resposes will be populist. No hint that  principles could drive this change.

I fear this will be another talk fest designed to dilute the meaning of the word Freedom from the absolute that it is, to an intangible security blanket of varying hues as favoured by the varying factions.

hat tip: Liberty Scott also has some observations.
